25 September 2026 — NPCI BHIM Services launched MyUPI, a conversational AI assistant offering nine UPI support and safety functions in the BHIM Payments App, at Global Fintech Fest 2026, Mint reported on 23 September. The functions cover transactions, complaints, recurring payments, payee checks and account controls.

Key points

  • MyUPI is available around the clock through Quick Actions in the BHIM Payments App.
  • Users can review transactions across linked accounts and UPI apps, and track eligible payment complaints.
  • The assistant supports English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Bengali, with more regional languages planned.
  • Payment actions still require the user’s UPI PIN.

MyUPI opens through BHIM Quick Actions

NPCI BHIM Services Limited, or NBSL, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India. MyUPI sits under Quick Actions in the BHIM app, where users can describe a payment issue in everyday language rather than complete a detailed form or move between support channels.

The assistant is available 24 hours a day in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Bengali. NBSL plans to add more regional languages, according to Mint. Its launch places transaction information, complaint handling, mandate management and safety tools behind a single conversational interface in BHIM.

Lalitha Nataraj, NBSL’s managing director and CEO, described MyUPI as a “proactive trust layer” for the app in the company release reported by Mint. The functions available to users range from finding an earlier payment to blocking a linked bank account.

UPI transactions, complaints and Autopay mandates

Transaction assistance covers payments across a user’s linked bank accounts and UPI apps. A user can select a particular transaction and seek help with it inside BHIM, including where the original payment was made through another UPI app. That cross-app view also extends to recurring-payment mandates.

For eligible payment-related complaints, MyUPI lets users raise an issue, receive a reference number and follow its progress within the app. The complaint feature connects a payment query to a trackable case rather than leaving the user with a conversational answer alone.

UPI Autopay management gives users a view of recurring payments and mandate details across linked accounts and apps. Users can pause, resume or cancel eligible mandates. A separate debit-information function helps identify the mandate associated with a debit made without a UPI PIN prompt and explains its purpose.

Transaction Replay covers eligible earlier person-to-person and person-to-merchant payments, including ones first made through a different UPI app. It allows a user to initiate the payment again, but the new transaction requires fresh authorisation with a UPI PIN.

Pay Safe and Safety Switch add account controls

Pay Safe lets users enter a UPI ID or upload a QR code to check the payee’s name before paying. MyUPI also offers information about suspected scam messages and commonly reported UPI fraud methods. Those functions sit alongside the transaction and mandate tools in the same interface.

The Safety Switch lets users block a linked bank account after a suspected compromise, lost phone, unexpected debit or suspicious message. Blocking that account prevents further transactions from it, YourStory reported. The control applies to a linked account rather than to every account a user can view in BHIM.

Users can also de-link their mobile number from their UPI Number if they no longer want to receive payments through that number. They can continue receiving money through a UPI ID where applicable. The de-linking tool is separate from the account-blocking control.

Payment-related actions continue to require authentication with the user’s UPI PIN. MyUPI can help locate a transaction, manage an eligible mandate or start a replayed payment, while the PIN remains the authorisation step for payment actions.
