Purple Mountain Laboratories unveiled AXP in Nanjing on 16 October, a platform its developers say can register up to one million AI agents and run 100,000 simultaneously, Pandaily reported.
Developed with China Mobile, Jiangsu Future Network Group and the Jiangsu Future Networks Innovation Institute, AXP uses deterministic networking to connect agents across organisations and regions. According to the announcement, it schedules computing and network resources together, translates between agent protocols and can switch over within seconds when it detects a failure.
The team says AXP addressed agents across domains more than 4,000 kilometres apart on CENI, China’s national experimental facility for future networks. It also claims the platform reduced end-to-end task execution time by more than 20%. Pandaily reported that the announcement gave no baseline for that comparison.
Purple Mountain Laboratories says joint testing and industrial validation have begun with telecoms operators, communications equipment makers and a large steel manufacturer. No commercial availability date or pricing was announced, Pandaily reported.
