Salesforce said on 19 October it plans to invest $1 billion in Spain over five years and designate Madrid as its EMEA South hub.
The plan includes a five-floor headquarters on Paseo de la Castellana, inaugurated with Miguel López-Valverde Argüeso, the Community of Madrid’s Minister of Digitalization, in attendance. Salesforce says it will establish an AI Implementation Team there. Its Forward Deployed Engineers will work with Spanish customers on AI deployments, while a regional centre will recruit and train graduates.
Graduates from EMEA South, which Salesforce says covers more than 90 countries across three continents, will train in Spain for a year before returning to their home countries. Salesforce has operated in Spain since 2003 and says it has created more than 600 direct jobs there. It names Repsol, CaixaBank and Telefónica among its Spanish customers.
Salesforce says Madrid Digital has integrated its Agentforce product into a support centre for public employees, where it says the system helps resolve incidents and automates routine technical support tasks.
