Pandaily reported that an AI agent identity registration and resolution platform was unveiled on 4 November at a World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit forum in China, where 20 organisations signed a self-discipline convention for agent development. The Cyberspace Administration of China and the GSMA hosted the forum.
The platform remains under construction. National-level participants are working on identity codes, identity resolution across domains and trusted connections between agents. A pilot has connected several operating platforms and service providers. Ant Group has integrated its agent collaboration infrastructure into an operating platform, with an Alipay government-services agent and Sesame Credit among the services connected to agents on other platforms.
The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology drafted the convention with companies including Huawei, Alibaba, Tencent, Xiaomi, Baidu, Volcano Engine, Ant Group and Douyin. Its eight commitments cover trust systems, interconnection, interoperability, security, governance, user rights, industry adoption and open sharing of technology. Signatories pledged to develop compliance-testing technology and resist the use of agents for fraud and algorithmic exploitation.
Wang Jingtao, deputy director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, urged rules for verifying agents, managing their permissions and ensuring they connect securely and operate in compliance with requirements. Organisations that endorsed the convention said industry groups and citizens could scrutinise their conduct.
