Law360 reported on 22 October that the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit removed a Mississippi federal judge from litigation over the state’s anti-DEI law. The court issued its opinion that night and attributed errors in the judge’s rulings to his careless use of artificial intelligence tools.

The case involves the American Civil Liberties Union and the Mississippi Center for Justice. The Fifth Circuit called the judge’s rulings “sloppy edicts” containing “falsehoods and fabrications”. It cited “extraordinarily grave errors” in removing him from the litigation.
