Anthropic reported $33.24 billion in revenue for the nine months ended 30 September, up roughly 1,200% from a year earlier, in an amended IPO prospectus filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on 2 November, CNBC reported. The amendment gives prospective investors results through September, rather than the first-half figures in the company’s initial filing.
Key points
- Nine-month revenue reached $33.24 billion, up roughly 1,200% year on year.
- The net loss was $104 billion, compared with $25.1 billion for the same period in 2025.
- The initial IPO prospectus contained financial results only through the first half of 2026.
- Anthropic plans to offer up to $3.5 billion in IPO shares to investors in Japan.
Anthropic extends its results through September
The amended Form S-1 follows an initial prospectus released in late October. That earlier document covered only the first six months of 2026, CNBC reported. Investors considering Anthropic’s planned public listing now have revenue and net-loss figures covering three quarters of the year.
Anthropic’s first-half revenue was $16.3 billion, against $1.3 billion in the corresponding period of 2025, Fortune reported on 27 October. Fortune described that increase as 13-fold. The newly reported $33.24 billion figure covers the longer period through September, while the roughly 1,200% growth rate compares that nine-month period with the same stretch of 2025.
The initial filing also reported a $80.7 billion first-half net loss, as AI Affairs reported when Anthropic filed its IPO prospectus. The 2 November amendment extends both the revenue and net-loss figures through September.
The nine-month net loss reaches $104 billion
Anthropic’s net loss for the nine months ended 30 September was $104 billion, compared with $25.1 billion over the equivalent period in 2025, according to CNBC. Both amounts are net losses for the same span of their respective years. The revenue and loss figures therefore give prospective shareholders two year-on-year comparisons as they assess the offering.
Fortune reported that most of Anthropic’s $80.7 billion net loss in the first half of 2026 came from accounting adjustments to debt instruments and other items that did not require cash payments. Those first-half measures cover a shorter period than the revenue and net-loss figures in the amended filing.
Fortune described Anthropic’s quarterly revenue as growing while keeping pace with operating expenses in the figures it examined from the initial prospectus. It also reported that the company’s leaders acknowledged substantial spending on compute lay ahead. Those operating and spending figures were part of the financial picture available before the September results were added.
Japan share plan reaches $3.5 billion
The amended figures arrive ahead of the share sale Anthropic is preparing as part of its IPO plans. AI Affairs previously reported the company’s plan to offer up to $3.5 billion in IPO shares to investors in Japan. The prospectus now places the nine-month revenue growth and the $104 billion net loss before those prospective investors.
