Broadcom arranges more than $50 billion for OpenAI chip financing

Apollo Global Management and Blackstone are among lenders in talks to participate in the deal, which follows separate Broadcom chip financing linked to Anthropic.

Broadcom is arranging more than $50 billion in financing for a custom artificial intelligence chip it is developing with OpenAI, Bloomberg reported on 7 October.

Apollo Global Management and Blackstone are among the lenders in talks to participate, according to Bloomberg. The proposed financing is part of a surge in deals to pay for AI infrastructure.

Broadcom is also involved in separate chip financing linked to Anthropic. AI Affairs reported that Blackstone and banks were gathering $60 billion for Broadcom AI chips for Anthropic. AI Affairs also reported that Broadcom agreed to lend Anthropic up to $42 billion for chip infrastructure.
