AT&T has added Gemini for Home features to its Connected Life security system for customers on its $29.99-a-month professional monitoring plan, The Verge reported on 4 November. The update brings camera-event descriptions, video search and daily activity summaries to a service AT&T launched with Google and Abode in December 2025.

Key points

  • AT&T says Connected Life is the first home security product to integrate with Google Home Premium.
  • Gemini for Home can describe camera events, search recorded footage using natural-language questions and produce daily activity summaries.
  • The Gemini features require AT&T’s $29.99-a-month professional Connected Life monitoring plan.
  • AT&T is also adding proximity-based arming and disarming. ADT has hinted at adding Gemini for Home features to its own systems.

Google Home Premium reaches Connected Life

AT&T says Connected Life is the first home security product to integrate with Google Home Premium. The company’s ranking concerns the home security products using that Google tier, rather than every device that can use Gemini for Home.

Google’s Gemini-powered Home APIs allow smart-home brands and developers to build AI features into their devices. Connected Life uses that connection for footage captured by home security cameras. Gemini for Home can describe an event in detail, including who delivered a package and how many items the person left.

Customers can also search recorded video by asking a question in ordinary language. One example is “What dug up the yard last night?” The service can provide a daily summary of activity inside and outside the home as well.

AT&T ties Gemini features to $29.99 monitoring

The Gemini features are available only through AT&T’s professional Connected Life monitoring plan, priced at $29.99 a month. The requirement puts the new camera tools within the paid monitoring service rather than making them available across every Connected Life account.

AT&T is also adding a proximity-based control that can arm or disarm a home automatically according to how close the customer is to it. That change concerns the security system’s operation, alongside the Gemini tools for reviewing camera footage.

ADT has hinted at bringing Gemini for Home features to its security systems, The Verge reported. AT&T’s Connected Life integration follows the service’s launch with Google and Abode in December 2025.
