Abu Dhabi-based G42 signed initial agreements to explore AI infrastructure in Greece at the UAE-Greece Strategic Forum in Athens on 22 October, as part of 18 UAE-Greece pacts valued at €12.75 billion ($14.3 billion), The National reported.
Under agreements with Greece’s Copelouzos Group, G42 companies Khazna Data Centres and Core42 will explore developing an AI factory. G42 said Khazna would lead the physical infrastructure work, while Core42 would supply cloud and AI compute capabilities for organisations in banking, telecoms, shipping and government.
G42 said its subsidiary Presight would work with Greece’s Ministry of Digital Governance to explore analytics for urban mobility and municipal operations. Inception42 will work with Greece’s Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence on agentic AI for government and education. G42 signed a framework agreement with a Vietnamese consortium in February to develop sovereign AI and cloud infrastructure.
Health care company M42 also signed an initial pact with Athens LifeTech Park covering life sciences research, genomics sequencing infrastructure, population genomics and clinical development. The proposed partnership includes a programme offering UAE life sciences start-ups a base at the park’s incubator and Greek and European ventures access to the UAE through M42’s network.
