Anthropic warned in an S-1 registration statement filed on 26 October that its AI safety positions could expose it to investigations and adverse treatment in government procurement as it prepares to go public, Politico reported.
The filing says criticism of the company’s public positions and executives’ statements could affect how regulators view its business, according to Politico. It also identifies selective application of rules and visa decisions affecting employees as potential risks.
The filing does not name President Donald Trump or his administration, but warns that Anthropic could be “disproportionately or selectively targeted” over its AI safety positions. The company has no plans to change its stance, Axios reported.
Anthropic also warned that efforts to build advanced chip manufacturing capacity outside Taiwan remain at an early stage and may not produce enough compute to materially reduce supply concentration risks in the foreseeable future, Politico reported.
