JKN reported on 5 November that OpenAI president Greg Brockman credited a third-quarter revenue inflection to coding tools, after what he called a difficult first half. Brockman spoke at the WSJ Tech conference on 4 November. He said OpenAI had struggled to gain attention for its coding products earlier in the year, before introducing GPT-5.6 Sol and ChatGPT Work in the third quarter. Enterprise services had since overtaken consumer subscriptions as its largest source of profit, he said.

OpenRouter tracked tool use across approximately 120,000 businesses in September and found spending on OpenAI and Anthropic at parity, compared with Anthropic accounting for about three-quarters early in the year, JKN reported. Brockman also said OpenAI had signed a strategic partnership with JPMorgan Chase and begun supplying a specialised cybersecurity model for its Daybreak programme. JPMorgan participates in Anthropic’s Project Glasswing cybersecurity initiative.

Brockman said an OpenAI listing could be possible around 2027. OpenAI has reduced its private fundraising goal from $30 billion to $20 billion and its valuation from $1.4 trillion to $1.25 trillion, with funds secured so far below half the original fundraising target, JKN reported.
