Pandaily reported on 25 October that a China Mobile-led national AI pilot base unveiled a shared automotive platform managing 112.7 EFLOPS of compute at the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference in Beijing. The platform lets carmakers draw on compute, data and model services rather than build their own AI infrastructure.
According to the base, construction lasted one year, and carmakers could begin using the shared service at launch. It offers six agents for vehicle styling, process planning, visual inspection, maintenance, driving-data generation and driving-model training. The base says the agents are in use at more than ten state-owned carmakers. China Mobile has also worked with Purple Mountain Laboratories on an agent interconnection platform.
In Shanghai, the base says its styling agent produced a single design set three times faster, while its process-planning agent reduced the time needed for a vehicle’s process cards from five days to four hours. In Jilin, it says its inspection agent lifted defect detection above 99.5% and shortened production-line adaptation from four weeks to one.
In Chongqing, the base says its maintenance agent recognises more than 20 fault types and cut downtime by 30%. In Beijing, it says its driving-model training agent doubled training speed for a driving policy.
